Case Overview
The patient presented with complete edentulism in both the maxilla and mandible. After preoperative cone-beam CT examination, the alveolar bone volume and bone density met the requirements for immediate implant placement. We adopted the full-arch implant-supported fixed restoration plan. Multiple pure titanium implants were precisely placed into the alveolar ridge of the upper and lower jaws to serve as the abutment support for the full-arch fixed bridge.
Surgical Procedure
During the surgical phase, multiple implants were inserted with adequate insertion torque, achieving excellent primary stability. Multi-angle healing abutments were connected firmly to the implants. The gingival tissue was sutured neatly, with no obvious swelling or bleeding, which helped shape the soft tissue contour for subsequent restoration.
Prosthetic Fabrication & Occlusion Adjustment
Impressions of the abutments were taken accurately after soft tissue healing. The full-arch monolithic zirconia bridge was designed and milled via CAD/CAM system.
The screw-retained framework was tried intraorally. Articulating paper was used to detect premature contact points. We carried out comprehensive occlusal adjustment to eliminate all occlusal interferences in centric occlusion and lateral excursion, so that the masticatory force was evenly distributed across the whole dentition.
Features of the Final Prosthesis
The full-contour zirconia fixed bridge adopts screw retention, which ensures superior marginal adaptation and avoids cement residue around the implant abutments.
The crowns were layered and shaded to mimic the color, translucency and anatomical morphology of natural teeth. Proper proximal contact and embrasure form were reserved to facilitate self-cleaning.
The balanced occlusal design reduces excessive stress on implants and effectively prevents bone resorption.
Clinical Outcome
The full-arch bridge fits tightly on the implant abutments with stable retention. The patient regained complete masticatory efficiency and natural facial aesthetics. The screw-access design allows convenient disassembly for long-term follow-up and maintenance, ensuring healthy peri-implant tissues and long-term service life of the restoration.
